Often credited with starting the Tex-Mex mania, Jane Butel has
published 16 cookbooks to date and also operates her own cooking
school in the La Posada de Albuquerque. Bringing years of experience
to her new television series, Butel pulls together the traditional
Southwestern combination of Spanish, Mexican, Anglo and Native American
with flair and ease.
Butel features traditional family recipes for everything from quesadillas
and salsas to chiles and tamales as well as innovative recipes such
as duck fajitas with orange-raspberry salsa and margarita pie. Throughout
the series, viewers are treated to Butels engaging anecdotes
and helpful hints.
