Biography
Dr. Karen Otazo is a consultant and global executive coach for multinational companies worldwide with more than twenty-five years of experience “Mentoring the Mentors” to maximize the effectiveness of leadership in organizations in the United States, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Singapore. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Indonesian, and Mandarin Chinese.
She is also a business author with books such as THE TRUTH ABOUT MANAGING YOUR CAREER and THE TRUTH ABOUT BEING A LEADER along with numerous articles. She has also done countless interviews and keynote speaking engagements worldwide with a committed involvement in Vital Voices Global Partnership which empowers women through leadership skills.
She is also the co-founder of Citizens for Affordable Energy, which she founded alongside her husband, former Shell Oil President John Hofmeister. Otazo lends her knowledge in promoting U.S. energy security solutions for the nation. The organization provides affordable energy supplies, essential infrastructure, sustainable environmental policy and public education on energy issues. Otazo’s work as an author, consultant, and public advocate help others draw knowledge about the business world and present fundamental ideas for entrepreneurs to manage their own businesses. She holds a doctorate in Human Resources Development and two degrees in Linguistics. She lives with her husband in Houston Texas.
