Aiyer currently manages his own law and consulting firm, The Aiyer Law Firm, specializing in immigration law and education policy. Jay previously worked in the public sector, for Senator Rodney Ellis and Chief of Staff to Mayor Lee P. Brown. Aiyer is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Jordan-Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University and is the Assistant Director of the Barbara Jordan Institute, a Policy Research Center specializing in urban public policy. Nancy Sims is Senior Vice President with Pierpont Communications, Inc. Prior to joining Pierpont, Nancy owned Quantum Consults and advised many of Texas’ leading political figures. Nancy is also an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston. Paul Bettencourt, former Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, is with Bettencourt Tax Advisors, LLC..
