HoustonPBS Moves Into The Digital Age...
HoustonPBS is broadcasting digital television on its KUHT-DT Channel 9. The digital signal is available over the air to those with digital television receivers, video cards for their computers, set-top boxes or access to Time-Warner's digital tier of programming. We are in the experimental stage at this point and are broadcasting a spectacular 2-1/2 hour loop of some of the best of PBS inventory of high-definition television (HDTV) programs.
Soon, we will begin to mutliplex our signal, broadcasting as many as four separate programming streams for much of the day and reducing to one or two streams when we have HDTV digital programming to present, primarily in the evening hours.
