A Place of Our OwnA Place of Our Own / Los Niños en su Casa Workshops
Based on the daily television series A Place of Our Own, this FREE workshop for adults focuses on developing children's language and literacy skills. This month's theme will be announced shortly and will include clips from the children's program, Sid, The Science Kid. Participants will receive a Workshop Caregiver Kit complete with episode DVD, activity cards and a children's book.

Join HoustonPBS in welcoming one of the newest resources available to child care providers. A Place of Our Own and it's Spanish counterpart, Los Niños en su Casa make up a daily television series, a website, and an extensive outreach program devoted to the unique needs of people who care for children.  Both programs share ways for us all to help children acquire cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills, as well as nurture language and literacy development.

PBS KIDS GO! Writing Contest!!!
The Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest has a new name! The contest deadline is open to all Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade authors and artists. The HoustonPBS 2010 Contest deadline was March 15.
