A LIMITED EDITION TUSCAN WINE SUPPORTS CHANNEL 8
To help support HoustonPBS, journalist Burt Wolf and a group of Tuscany’s most respected wine makers are producing a limited edition wine. Made from the area’s finest grape varieties and using the most advanced methods, this premium wine will only be available to supporters of Channel 8.
Member Reserve is exclusively available by the case from Spec’s. Order your case today for $249.00 by contacting Nate Rose at 713-526-8787 ext. 1243. Channel 8 benefits from every case sold.
The blend was created with grapes selected from the optimum growing areas in Tuscany and includes Sangiovese and Merlot. The wine has an intense red color, with elegance, balance and richness that can only come from premium grapes receiving the most skillful attention to detail.
The wine was designed for easy drinking as part of a meal and as a perfect wine for almost all Italian dishes. It is ideal for meat and poultry (especially those that are roasted or grilled) and any dish containing tomatoes. Perfect pairings would also include vegetable or bean- based soups, recipes with mushrooms, and cheeses.
The label features a reproduction of a photograph by Lee Friedlander. In 2005, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City held an exhibition of 500 Friedlander photographs and described him as one of the world’s most important photographers. Because this project is supporting Channel 8, Mr. Friedlander has donated the right to use his photograph.
The idea of reproducing a contemporary work of art on a wine label is not new. In 1945, Baron Philippe de Rothschild started commissioning important artists to create works for his labels. Each year since then, works by artists from Picasso to Warhol have been duplicated on the Mouton Rothschild labels and they have become the basis for valuable collections. These limited edition vintage labels are the first to use the work of an outstanding photographer who is represented in the collections of the world’s most important museums.
A wine of this quality would normally retail in the United States for double the price. A 12-bottle case of Member Reserve is $249, plus tax and delivery. A portion of the sale from each case of our limited edition Member Reserve benefits HoustonPBS.

Member Reserve is exclusively available by the case from Spec’s.
